This week I broadened my research into corporate law. I used sources from the Yale Law Journal and the American Bar Association to create an annotated bibliography that describes my analysis of different cases or topics within corporate law.
This assignment allowed me the opportunity to expand my thinking of how many different cases fall under corporate law, and it also allowed me the opportunity to see how different parts of the American legal system are working to keep big business in check. It was extremely interesting to see the wording of new state amendments in places like Delaware that were meant to have greater control over big corporations.
This week I also created and finished a professional resume for my upcoming ISM Symposium. I have created resumes in the past, but this one is centered around being a candidate for obtaining a corporate law mentor. I have structured it to include my past experience with classes that focus on law, my academic achievements, and my past work experience.
I also included soft skills and my technological abilities such as my proficiency in Excel, Access, and Google. These skills are important for working for a law firm so that I can correctly organize information.
Overall, building a new resume has given me the opportunity to be able to work on skills that are necessary for my future in the workforce and college.
