Last week, I analyzed the business symposium that I attended the previous week. I completed a reflection where I had the opportunity to go back and describe what I learned from this event, and how I can apply what I heard in the workshops into my search for a mentor. I also had the opportunity to give feedback for what could be included for the next group of ISM 1 students the next year.
Also we went over the steps to conduct research interviews, these interviews are meant to help myself and the other ISM students gain firsthand information about our topics. I have begun to research professionals in the DFW area that are corporate lawyers who I can reach out to for these interviews. My goal is to complete a list of about 20 contacts who fit the requirements that I can begin to cold email and cold call.
The goal of these interviews are to meet enough professionals and develop relationships, so that I can find a mentor that will fit my research the best. This mentor will help me with my research and original work for my ISM programs. This mentor will also give me real world knowledge that will benefit me for my future career.
